The TPS7H4002-SP is a Radiation Hardened (RHA), 3V to 5.5V Input, 3A, Synchronous Buck Converter

The TPS7H4002-SP is a radiation hardened 5.5V, 3A synchronous buck converter optimized for small designs with high efficiency and integrated high-side and low-side MOSFETs. Further space savings are achieved through current-mode control that reduces component count and high switching frequency that reduces the inductor footprint.

The output voltage start-up ramp is controlled by the SS/TR pin, allowing operation as a standalone supply or in a tracking condition. Power sequencing can also be achieved by properly configuring the enable and open-drain power good pins. Additionally, the TPS7H4002-SP can be configured in primary-secondary mode for parallel operation.

Cycle-by-cycle current limit on the high-side FET protects the device during overload conditions and is enhanced by low-side source current limit to prevent current runaway. There is also a low-side sink current limit that turns off the low-side MOSFET to prevent excessive reverse current. Thermal shutdown disables the part when the ADM2490EBRWZ die temperature exceeds the thermal limit.
